CHICAGO – Two of EdisonLearning’s Bridgescape Learning Academies in Chicago – Bridgescape Humboldt Park and Bridgescape Brainerd – achieved the “Good Standing” quality rating in results released by the Chicago Public Schools (CPS). Bridgescape Lawndale and Bridgescape Roseland were one-tenth of point short of the top rating.
Bridgescape Brainerd was the only Option School to receive a perfect 100 score for the important “1 year graduation” rating, and improved upon its overall rating from the previous year.
Half of the more than 3,000 young people to graduate from Bridgescape Academies nationwide have received their high school diplomas in Chicago since 2013.
Chicago Public Schools (CPS) recently released School Quality Rating Policy (SQRP) results for the 2018-2019 school year, which provide parents and families with a transparent and easy-to-use overview of school quality. The rating includes an analysis of a comprehensive set of data including student growth, performance, school culture and climate, graduation rates, attendance rates, and progress among priority student groups, among other criteria.
CPS uses five performance ratings to measure a school’s rating: Levels 1+, 1, and 2+ (Good Standing), Level 2 (Provisional Support), and Level 3 (Intensive Support).
“We are all proud of the hard work put in by our Bridgescape students and graduates, and especially thankful for the dedication and commitment of the highly qualified professional educators and administrators in Chicago who are directly responsible for the continued success of these schools,” said EdisonLearning President and CEO Thom Jackson.
