About Achievement Services

Pathways to achievement

Circumstances and extraordinary challenges can make it tough to meet school achievement standards and give the children in your care the great education they deserve. We created the EdisonLearning™ Achievement Services portfolio to meet this need – to help underperforming schools get on track to deliver the academic results and well-rounded education that students, parents, and the community have every right to expect.

EdisonLearning Achievement Services include a suite of highly effective tools and support focused at the school level. Each engagement leverages the best of EdisonLearning to address every aspect of a school’s academic performance.

EdisonLearning Alliance is the core offering in the EdisonLearning Achievement Services portfolio of highly effective K-12 achievement improvement solutions, one that can help you transform your schools and make them true centers of academic excellence. Our Alliance™ programs also target sustainable improvement, building schools’ capacity to deliver a good education and putting in place structures that help ensure continued high performance on an ongoing basis.

EdisonLearning Achievement Services are designed to successfully conform to local factors including the academic program and collective bargaining agreements. Achievement Services offerings work optimally in a cluster of school buildings that share an academic need, whether it is based on remediation (i.e., NCLB-based intervention, increasing graduation rates) or acceleration (“good to great” improvement, increasing college admissions).

By providing the critical tools and teams necessary to deliver sustainable school improvement, Alliance enables public schools to follow a proven pathway to achievement success.

How Achievement Services and School Designs differ

EdisonLearning Achievement Services are similar to EdisonLearning™ School Designs in the sense that they are both intensive, building-based partnerships that use dedicated teams to target and deliver school improvement and student learning.

Although cut from the same cloth of achievement, there are clear differences in the offering:

  • School Designs is a “whole school” solution that includes all services – academic, operational, administrative, etc. – as well as prescribed recommendations for the execution of key components such as curriculum, scheduling, and staffing.
  • Achievement Services focuses on core academic areas including curriculum and instruction, professional development for leaders and teachers, assessment and data-driven decision making – the highest-impact areas that affect learning.

Quote: A partnership created to improve traditionally low-performing schools has helped produce major gains in student achievement at several schools across the Charleston County School District. Palmetto Achievement Challenge Tests (PACT) scores showed that three of the four most improved elementary schools, and five of the 16 most improved Charleston public schools, were working in partnership with [EdisonLearning] Alliance.
