EdisonLearning Alliance™ helps schools combine planning
support, technology, and professional development into a system
that ensures that every important decision is informed by and
aligned with the primary goal of high academic achievement. This
system is based on “Achievement-Driven Management,” one of the Four
Cornerstones™ of highly effective schools.
The Alliance™ Diagnostic
Setting the right course towards high academic achievement
begins with a diagnostic assessment of the school’s strengths and
weaknesses that serves as the basis for a customized program for
success. The Alliance Diagnostic is based on current
research and proven best practices from EdisonLearning™
School Designs, reflecting our experience working with hundreds of
schools over the past 17 years.
The Alliance Diagnostic consists of a four- to six-week
process that combines a quantitative analysis of existing school
data with an on-site assessment, including interviews with
teachers, students, and parents, as well as classroom observations
conducted by a team of trained diagnosticians. The product of this
process is a diagnostic report that highlights achievements and
challenges, and provides recommendations in such areas as school
leadership, instruction, curriculum, student learning, student
care, professional development, and family and community
relations.
Planning and tracking success
Using the recommendations from the diagnostic report, an on-site
Alliance Achievement Team then works with district and
school leadership to develop a results-oriented achievement plan
for each school that addresses its particular needs. Using
EdisonLearning’s proven Student Achievement Plan template or their
existing planning formats, schools create a living document that
lays out ambitious, yet realistic, goals with clear targets and
interventions that will drive the work of teachers, administrators,
and the Alliance Achievement Team for the upcoming school
year.
Benchmark Assessment System
To track progress against their goals and ensure that
information on student achievement is finding its way back into the
classroom, schools must be able to collect and analyze relevant and
timely student data. EdisonLearning’s
Benchmark Assessment System enables schools to accomplish these
tasks.
A powerful instructional tool for teachers and administrators,
the Benchmark Assessment System provides students with monthly,
online assessments written specifically to the state’s standards.
The system generates instantaneous reports providing teachers and
leaders with valuable information on how their students are
progressing towards state end-of-year standards with a frequency
that optimizes its impact on classroom instruction.
