With the Class of 2021 Commencement Ceremonies now concluded at all seven of EdisonLearning’s Florida-based network schools, congratulations go out to the 400 young people who earned their high school diplomas.
As a result, the total number of graduates from an EdisonLearning network school - beginning 10 years ago - is now 5,190.

In 2011, knowing that too many students dropped out of school because the traditional approach to learning no longer worked for them, or because they were dealing with work and family obligations and needed a more flexible approach to class scheduling; EdisonLearning took the visionary step to establish Bridgescape Learning Academies to help high school-age students, who have left school or who were at risk of leaving, earn their high school diploma.
Over time, young people looking to complete their high school education in Illinois, Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina, New Jersey, and more recently at the seven Florida alternative learning schools; were provided the opportunity to further their educational journeys (65% of all graduates have gone on to college), build meaningful careers, or enter military service.
Thom Jackson, the President and CEO of EdisonLearning said, “The accomplishments of these extraordinary young people are remarkable and inspiring, especially when considering the challenging life circumstances many have faced. As a result of their socio-economic disparity, it was assumed that they would not finish school, would not find a decent job, and would never go to college. Yet, they preserved and succeeded.”
“Additionally, the commitment of the talented educators and staff members in each of the schools to help these graduates succeed,” Mr. Jackson said, “can be a source of great pride for them individually, and for the entire company collectively.”
By advancing the firm belief that every student – given the right tools, support and environment is capable of exceeding their expectations, and complete their high school education; EdisonLearning has helped 5,190 young people establish a solid academic foundation that enhances their ability to fulfill positive roles in their communities and society as a whole.
